Monarch
Joseph Jackoboice’s precision sawmill and woodworking machinery company in Grand Rapids, MI was the foundation for what would become Monarch Hydraulics. Founded in 1856, the product line evolved into road scrapers and snow plows in the 1930s and in the 1940s, grew to include hydraulic pumps and valves. In 2007, Monarch was acquisitioned by Germany’s Bucher Hydraulics but the company continues to operate today as a family-run business.
